Here you will find exercises for the Reaching others material. Feel free to practice together with others. It is in the dynamic with others that we can be challenged and quickly improve. It is also possible to practice by yourself. With minor adjustments, you can do most of the exercises on your own.
In the fourth part, we explore what makes conversations engaging and thought-provoking. When information is presented in a story, it reaches us deeply. Metaphors can provide instinctive understanding. With questions, we can gently guide others’ attention to a place where insight is possible.
The third part describes how we interpret reality with an internal map. If we do not understand each other's maps, we talk past each other and have difficulty reaching others. Mass influence can overcome a person's free will and judgment. When we understand how propaganda is structured, we can more easily detect when it is being used.
The second part gives us insight into how our mind works and with it better opportunities to reflect on how we ourselves and others react. It creates an inner security from which it becomes easier to act. We gain understanding of the thoughts of others and it leads us to a more constructive approach.
In the first part, we show how our mindset and our relationship with each other affects our ability to reach others. An approach characterized by cooperation and a positive mindset makes it easier to reach others. Our mindset is something that we ourselves can influence even if that can be challenging
The knowledge series Reaching others helps us have open conversations and see a larger perspective. The methods are based on knowledge in psychology, behavioural science, neuroscience and marketing. We have developed material that is at a level for the average person to be able to have successful conversations.
HHS’s We Can Do This campaign, carried out in 2021, used social media, television, influencers and partnerships with companies to increase willingness to receive covid vaccinations, while also raising questions about influence and public health.
